There are times
when the straight image, beautiful as it may be, simply does not, in my
opinion, cut right to the core essence of a subject, at least as I perceive
it. And since, to me, art is about the presentation of the artist's
perceptions on all levels, I have no inhibitions about doing whatever I
think is necessary to an image to bring out that core. Whether it is
the texture of rust or the batick of a flower field, I've no problem
aesthetically or ethically manipulating an image to better portray me
reactions to it. Here are some of those images. The pieces in this collection were mostly shot on digital with the following cameras.
